Design 1667 Biscayne 27 Class

This little MORC racing yacht was developed by Sparkman & Stephens and the prototype was built by the of Gallart Shipyard of Barcelona, Spain and launched in 1962. We can see from the records that another boat was built from these plans at the Smith & Rhuland Shipyard of Nova Scotia. Beyond these two that we have on record we have no idea if additional boats were built to these plans.

Construction is white oak structural members with single planking of mahogany. The deck is fiberglass over plywood.

Here are the plans.

Principal Dimensions
LOA 27'-4"
LWL 20'-8"
Beam 8'-8"
Draft 3'-2" (board up) 6'-6" (board down)
